Questions people ask

What is an end-of-service amount?

It is the payment owed to an employee when their employment ends, built up over their years of service. In the Gulf it is usually called end-of-service benefit; in India and Sri Lanka it is called gratuity. Each country sets its own rule for how it builds up and when it is owed.

Which countries does the calculator cover?

The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, India and Sri Lanka. Choose the country and the form asks only what that country's law needs.

Why does the form change when I change the country?

Because the laws ask different questions. Some count the reason for leaving and some do not; some base the amount on basic pay and some on basic pay plus a fixed allowance. The form shows only the fields the chosen country uses, and says when a field does not change the answer.

Is the answer final?

No. It is an estimate from the law alone. An employment contract, a company policy that pays more than the law, unpaid leave and amounts still owed in either direction can all change the final settlement.

Is anything I type stored?

No. The figures are used to work out the answer and nothing is kept. You do not need an account.
