Tracking overview
Real-time shipment visibility across air, sea, and road from a single shipment record.

Tracking turns the shipment record into a live status view with carrier milestones, GPS traces, and customer-visible ETAs.
What's tracked
- Air — MAWB milestones (RCS / DEP / ARR / RCF / DLV) via Cargo iQ / carrier APIs / CargoAi.
- Sea — vessel position + container events (gate-out, load, discharge, gate-in) via Project 44 / carrier APIs / Terminal49 / Marine Traffic.
- Road — trip-level driver app status + vehicle GPS where telematics is connected.
- Warehousing — receipt, putaway, pick, ship events.
- Customs — entry submitted / cleared / held / queried.
The unified timeline
Every shipment has a unified timeline on its detail page mixing events from every mode involved. Milestones show planned vs actual. Variance flagged.
ETAs
ETAs update as events flow in. The platform derives an ETA from:
- Current stage (e.g. departed, in-transit, at destination).
- Remaining stages.
- Historical transit time for the lane / carrier.
- Live-adjustments from carrier ETAs.
When ETA slips > tolerance, a delay event records and the customer is notified if they've opted in.
Exception events
Key exceptions:
- Delayed pickup / delivery.
- Missed connection.
- Customs hold.
- Damage on handover.
- Route deviation (unexpected port / airport).
Exceptions post to the shipment and queue a task on ops.
Event sources
The platform integrates many sources (see carrier integrations). Multiple sources overlap — the platform de-duplicates and prefers the higher-quality source.
Customer-facing view
A simplified version of the timeline shows in the customer portal and on public tracking links.
API + webhooks
Subscribe to events per shipment via webhook. Or fetch via API: GET /api/shipments/{id}/events.
