Device management

Provisioning, wiping, versioning, and supporting fleet devices.

Fleet mobile devices (scanners, driver phones) need management. The admin console tracks every device in use.

Device record

Each device (handheld, phone, tablet) registers on first login:

  • Device id (hardware).
  • Model + OS version.
  • App version.
  • Assigned user (current).
  • Home warehouse / depot.
  • Last-seen timestamp + IP.

Visible in /app/admin/devices.

Provisioning

  • BYOD (driver's own phone) — install app from store; log in. Device registers automatically.
  • Corporate handhelds — mass-provision via MDM (Intune, Workspace One, SOTI). App pre-installed, auto-configured.
  • Kiosk mode — for handhelds dedicated to the app, enable kiosk mode (MDM-enforced).

Version management

  • Minimum app version enforced server-side; below minimum is blocked with an update prompt.
  • Release notes per version in the admin console.
  • Staged rollouts — 5% → 25% → 100% — for phone platforms.

Remote wipe

For lost / stolen devices:

  • Remote-wipe app data (keeps the phone OS).
  • Revoke user's active sessions (forces re-login everywhere).
  • Flag device as lost; blocks further logins.

Health monitoring

  • Devices with low battery frequently or frequent crashes flag on the device list.
  • Crash reports auto-collected (users opt-in).
  • Network error rate per device — helps diagnose bad cellular coverage at depots.

Shift / shared devices

Warehouse handhelds are often shared across shifts. Config:

  • Auto-logout at end of shift (configurable time).
  • Shift-badge-scan login — badge QR logs in the operator for the shift.
  • Per-shift event attribution remains accurate.

Integrations

  • MDM: Intune, Workspace One, SOTI, Jamf, Hexnode.
  • RUM / crash: Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry.

Support

End users contact your IT. IT uses the admin console to inspect device + user state before escalating to our support. Reduces back-and-forth.
