Customer portal overview

Self-service for customers: quotes, bookings, tracking, documents, invoices.

1 min readLast updated 13 Apr 2026

The customer portal is the self-service face of the platform — your customers log in to get what they need without emailing you.

What's inside

  • Dashboard — active shipments, open invoices, recent documents.
  • Shipments — tracking, documents, messaging.
  • Quotes — view, accept, reject, request changes.
  • Bookings — self-book on published rate cards.
  • Documents — invoices, PODs, BLs, statements.
  • Finance — AR balance, statements, payment.
  • Team — manage contacts and their access.

Lives at portal.yourdomain.com (tenant-specific subdomain).

Who it's for

  • Key accounts with high shipment volume — self-booking saves both sides time.
  • Consignees — limited access to track and acknowledge arrivals.
  • Billing contacts — view and pay invoices.
  • Agents / subsidiaries — collaborative accounts that span multiple entities.

Mobile

The portal is responsive; there's no separate mobile app for customers today. Tablet / phone usage is heavy for on-the-go tracking checks.

Branded experience

Tenant branding (logo, colours, subdomain, footer) applies — customers see it as your product, not a generic tool.

What's NOT in the portal

  • Internal ops views (trip planning, cost data).
  • Vendor-side data (what you pay carriers).
  • Commercial negotiations (rate building, opportunity tracking).

These stay in the main ops app.

Impact

Customers with portal access typically:

  • Email you 50–70% less for status.
  • Book faster (self-booking eliminates the quote-acceptance email loop).
  • Pay faster (one-click pay where finance integration allows).

Activation matters — see access for how to enrol customers effectively.
