About the role
We're a logistics platform — fleet telematics, freight forwarding, courier and warehousing — with customers across the Gulf.
Mobile is where we’re investing next, and you would be the person who decides how it gets built.
This is an ownership role, not a maintenance one. You would be our only mobile engineer: real autonomy, and nobody to hand a hard problem to at six in the evening.
What you'll do
- Build and ship our driver app on iOS and Android — offline-first trip execution, proof-of-delivery capture with camera and signature, and background GPS that survives a locked screen and a full shift
- Own the release pipeline you set up: TestFlight, Play Console, signing, APNs and FCM, and store review submissions
- Design the offline sync — durable queues, idempotency, and what happens when the phone and the server disagree
- Build warehouse scanning for pickers, and a customer tracking app when the demand is there
- Write the backend the mobile apps need: sync endpoints, conflict resolution and push triggers in Python/FastAPI
- Pick up work on the React web product between mobile pushes
What we're looking for
- An app you personally shipped to BOTH the App Store and Google Play that we can go and look at — something real, with users, that you took through review
- Strong React Native and TypeScript
- Experience with offline-first mobile: local persistence, queued writes and sync conflicts
- Working knowledge of push notifications on both platforms, including APNs credentials
- Comfortable in a backend codebase — Python and FastAPI, or a close equivalent you can transfer
- Able to work independently and finish things without being chased
Nice to have
- Background location, geofencing or telematics experience
- Barcode or QR scanning in a warehouse or field setting
- Taking an app through its first App Store and Play Store release
- Mapping and route visualisation on mobile
- Logistics, fleet or field-operations software
