Finance reporting lives at /app/finance/reports. Standard reports cover the usual suspects plus forwarding-specific views.
Standard financial reports
- P&L — by period, drillable to account, cost centre, customer, service line. Variance vs prior period / budget.
- Balance sheet — assets, liabilities, equity. As-of any date.
- Cash flow — direct or indirect. Typically indirect for monthly close.
- Trial balance — per period, per cost centre. Basis for close.
- General ledger — journal-level, filter by account / date / user.
Operational finance reports
- Margin by shipment — revenue − cost per shipment, with % and $ margin. Sortable, filterable.
- Margin by customer — aggregate over period.
- Margin by service line — air / sea / road / warehousing / customs.
- Margin by lane — origin → destination routes.
- Vendor spend — by vendor, by service, by period. Base for rate negotiation.
- DSO + AR ageing — see ageing.
- DPO + AP ageing — the vendor equivalent.
Period close pack
At month / quarter close, finance produces a pack:
- P&L, balance sheet, cash flow.
- AR + AP ageing.
- FX revaluation schedule.
- Accrual register.
- Revenue recognition register.
- Bank reconciliation.
- Open disputes.
Exportable as Excel or PDF; the pack is the basis for the monthly management report to leadership.
Custom reports
Power users can build custom reports via the report builder (/app/finance/reports/builder):
- Pick a fact table (shipments, invoices, bills, payments).
- Add dimensions (customer, vendor, service, period, currency).
- Add measures (revenue, cost, margin, count).
- Filter and group.
Saved reports share with finance team; schedulable (email every Monday 9am).
Export targets
- Excel / CSV — ad hoc.
- PDF — for distribution.
- Zoho Books / QuickBooks — via integration; see integrations / finance.
- Data warehouse — via daily dump. API available for pulls.
Audit trail
Every report run is logged with user, filters, timestamp. Useful when a report is cited in a dispute ("show me who ran this and when").
Performance
Reports run against a nightly-built analytics warehouse, not live transactional tables. Latency: data up to end of previous day. Live views are available for specific tiles (AR, open shipments) where sub-minute latency matters.
