Opportunities

Track pursuit of specific deals from qualification to close.

1 min readLast updated 13 Apr 2026

An opportunity is a specific deal in progress with a known account — an RFQ, a tender, a new lane / service win.

Fields

  • Name — e.g. "ACME FY27 Asia-EU ocean tender".
  • Account — the customer.
  • Owner — sales rep.
  • Estimated value — annual revenue if won.
  • Estimated margin — in % or absolute.
  • Stage — see pipeline.
  • Close date — expected.
  • Probability — % likelihood of winning.
  • Source — lead origin.
  • Competitors — who else is bidding.
  • Products / services — air / sea / road / warehousing / customs.
  • Key lanes — main origin-destination pairs.

Stages

Tenant-configurable; typical:

  1. Qualification.
  2. Discovery.
  3. Rate build.
  4. Proposal sent.
  5. Negotiation.
  6. Verbal win.
  7. Closed won / Closed lost.

Each stage has required fields — e.g. rate build requires a draft rate card attached.

Rate build

Opportunities link to draft rate cards. Sales builds the customer's proposed rates, then submits for pricing / ops review before sending to the customer. Approval workflow configurable.

Linked documents

  • Customer's RFQ / tender brief (uploaded).
  • Your proposal PDF (generated from the PDF designer).
  • Meeting notes.
  • Competitive intel.

Close workflow

  • Closed won — opportunity archives; the rate card publishes against the account; customer can book.
  • Closed lost — capture reason (price, service, timing, incumbent) and competitor who won.

Win / loss reasons feed commercial analytics.

Forecasting

Pipeline-weighted forecast = sum of estimated value × probability × (stage factor). See pipeline.

Activities

Opportunities accumulate activities (calls, emails, meetings). See activities & tasks.
